At Tim Galyean Photography we’re re inventing the professional senior portrait process.

We’re bringing back the the times when everyone could afford a professional senior portrait and have fun at the same time. It’s pretty simple, more value for you, less stress and more fun for everyone.  Some of you may remember when getting a beautiful professional senior portrait was affordable to everyone and was a pretty easy process.  And then somebody, maybe a group of professional photographers apparently decided to compete on who could charge the highest prices and get the most money out of parents for a senior portrait.   

What once was a fun experience has become an expensive almost circus like event that only a small percentage of people can afford. All day long, multi day sessions, endless outfits, unlimited locations, unlimited items to purchase, high pressure sales sessions.

Then when you thought things couldn’t get any worse.....everyone with a digital camera now believes they are a photographer and will take 350 pictures of a senior, which, well.....you probably could have done a better job yourself in your own back yard.  Which then leads you to be stuck between a rock and a hard spot, how do you tell your aspiring photographer friend that the photos they took are um...., not exactly what you had in mind and your daughter is crying and refuses to show them to anyone.  

Well we are working on changing all that. Over the last several years we’ve asked a couple hundred moms and seniors what would make their senior portrait experience better and below is what we came up with.  

Prices and purchasing options that will make professional portraits affordable to everyone. Like our $25 just the basics and our layaway plan. If you want 1 8x10 or a package, get what you want. Were making things simple by only offering 3 packages to choose from and putting in the 3 packages the most popular items and amounts people have asked for.  To make things even simpler we also include the photo sessions in all of our 3 packages.

We keep our advertising costs down by relying on word of mouth and small postcards to get most of our business instead of fancy expensive marketing pieces. This helps keep us profitable and still keep prices affordable.  (Did you know that some photographers buy marketing pieces that have other photographers photos on them)

How about making it easy for you to shop. We put everything here on our website to make it easy for you to select what you want and what fits in your budget.  No having to call our studio and waste your time trying to get how much it will cost out of us. All of our prices are on our website.  No surprises or hiding the amount you spend from the rest of the family.  We want to make it easy for you to select the photos you want to order from (besides the part of there are too many good ones to choose from) so all of our 3 packages come with a photo Cd of all the photos taken so you can take it home and select your favorites at home instead of a big high pressure sales session.  We give you a photo release form so you can print from the full size files on your Cd to make your own 4x6 proofs or to make other fun gifts and scrap books.

The photo session. I’ve been doing senior portraits for 25 years and trust me, it doesn’t take all day and 10 outfits to get a beautiful professional portrait of a teenager.  It does take the experience of knowing how to  properly pose a person for their personality and body type and the proper lighting to make them look their best.  It also helps to focus on the subject instead of trying to figure out how to operate a camera during a session in order to get the best expressions which are so important in a portrait. You just can’t fix a bad expression in Photoshop and making a person unrecognizable by using too much Photoshop is just plain icky.  You can’t capture the heart and soul of a person by Photoshopping them on a computer.  We have an indoor studio and 2 acre portrait park right at our studio. No need to go all over town to find an ugly building to pose in front of. (we actually have one of those too)  We believe in keeping our seniors safe and driving all over town to strange locations just doesn’t sound all that safe.

Ordering for busy families. Instead of coming back in to our studio to place your print order we make it easy and time saving for everyone’s busy schedule.  We have it set up so you can email your final order to us, anytime day or night. You still have the option of coming if you need extra help placing your order.
